Activities First Aid (RQF)
Specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure, and recreation. Not only is Basic Life Support included, but many other First Aid conditions are also included, making this qualification very comprehensive. This level 3 qualification is made up of two units including First Aid Essentials. What is the duration of the course? A minimum of 12 contact hours in the classroom (2 days), consisting of practical and theoretical activities, plus an assignment and some pre-course activity.
What is the Syllabus of the course? A range of subjects are covered including: - 1. Responsibilities and reporting 2. Resuscitation 3. Angina 4. Assessment of the situation 5. Heart attacks 6. Choking 7. Dealing with an unresponsive casualty 8. Minor injury 9. Seizures 10. Basic hygiene in First Aid 11. Bleeding control 12. Shock 13. Fractures 14. Head injuries 15. Asthma 16. Drowning injuries 17. Diabetes 18. Burns 19. Electrical injuries 20. Spinal injuries Heat and cold
What is the requirement of the course? Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor over the two day course.
What qualification will I receive? A three-year qualification will be issued to the learner, subject to assessment. For those wishing to complete the full level 3 qualification, this must be completed within 6 weeks.
